We've been doing playdates again, which has been a real treat. This was an amazing moment where 6 children of all different ages where happily amused.

It was a super fun (although short) vacation, with swimming, the beach and shrimping. Of course, as usual, the girls seemed to like the hotel pool the best. Still I can't complain, it was right on the beach with an ocean view and everything:

Then we went to Mee-Maw's for Granpa Walter's for their birthday/anniversary party. The girls were a hit at the party.  Mabel in an out of character move totally hammed it up on the microphone, sang happy birthday, and then went wild with the mic, running and singing. 

And more swimming at the hotel pool

 We got the fancy suite room so the girls could hold a very important weasel club meeting.




And a trip to Charlotte wouldn't be complete without going to Monkey Joe's

 And plenty of fun around the house

But it hasn't all been fun, there has been some very serious work to do:

Mabel takes her song singing very seriously.

She has been learning how to read. Here is a picture of the first book where she actually started sounding out the letters. She knows all her letters and sounds. It's not quite perfect, but she's getting there and I'm sure she'll be reading up a storm in no time.

Although we were mostly there because Meemaw and Walter have been having some trouble, Mabel didn't mind one bit. She kept saying what a good time she was having, and who could blame her.

She even managed to have fun at doctor visits, where everyone was so thrilled to see a little one, and she got candy and toys, and at the bank where we had to amuse ourselves for 2 hours and we got to meet a Maltese puppy.
