Fall

Well, it's been a rough season for us, but we've managed to have some fun in spite of it.

Healthy eating at Sevenanda: Mabel helps prepare seaguac roles, and she liked it, she really liked it!

Okay, okay, I know you're probably getting tired of pictures from the zoo, but I just can't resist - this was an especially lovely trip

Some daddy time while mommy was away

A little diversion in Charlotte

Halloween

The Nutcracker

The girls were mesmerized

And now it's Mabel's latest obsession

Trip to NY

My Little World Traveler

(okay domestic)

Mabel and Heloise were like 2 peas in a pod

Mabel really liked having her younger "cousin" around to show her the ways of the world

Extra fun when Amelia, Miles and Malcolm came too!

Governor's Island with Aunt Melissa

The world's biggest sandbox with Auntie Jill

Vacation

After 5 summers, we finally have nailed it down.

Shrimping on Amelia Island

This year we went to the Okeefanokee Swamp Park - the girls had a blast.

The highlight was the reptile show - Mabel was very shy about the animals - as you can see!

Ready!

And the beach of course (not pictured).

First day of Pre-K

And I didn't even cry!  Mabel has been so excited all summer, we went to two open houses and she couldn't stop talking about it. On Monday night, as we were getting out of the car to head in, she said "I love all me new friends and new teachers" - this was before she'd met them. This morning went great, she even helped one of her new little friends, Kareem, find his cubby - she took his little hand and led him to it. Today she broke a glass and it shattered all over the place, she said "it's going everywhere, all the way to Whitefoord. She is in love.

Me, I'm happy and excited too, but of course a little sad to see my little girl grow up. We watched Dumbo after school, and I told Mabel how I used to sing Baby Mine to her when she was an infant. Sniffle, sniffle...

Summer!!!

And it sure has been a fun-filled one, but I must confess after all the excitement, I'm looking forward to going back to school so mommy can get a break.

You make me feel so young!

Mabel & Taeva made quite the grand entrance at the Cabbagetown reunion. They even got a parking ticket!

The Old Forth Ward splash pad provided much needed relief from the heat, but of course Mabel found unconventional ways of amusing herself -

Everybody dance Now!

And lots of trips to the aquarium
